Mama Abeg
This story follows a local entrepreneur who has made correction through pain his business. He is a character who figures in the dreams and nightmares of Port Harcourt’s people. His song and dance announce the commencement of a ritual that children across the city are painfully familiar with. Spare the rod, spoil the child. After his visit, the kids plead: Mama, abeg na (mummy, I beg). You can laugh, but it hurts. It hurts deep. This is not an approach that we endorse!
