Black Market: Night Creatures

Sometimes to really understand a city, you need music. We covered our neighbourhoods through the pandemic, reporting on the sudden nocturnal turn our street markets took. We carried out surveys, interviewed traders, mapped the economic transformations and new trade routes. But a song can tell you something statistics can’t.

As I wondered through the midnight markets with my camera, trying to capture the scene, this melody captured my imagination.
